Almond Milk

This Almond milk is absolutely delicious and dead easy to make!

Needed:

Almonds
A handful of soft juicy pitted dates
Water
A blender
A mesh bag or fine strainer
A good size bowl

What to do:

Put the almonds, the dates and the water into your blender - the water should be enough to cover the ingredients.

Blend, blend, blend :-)

Put the contents into your mesh bag and tie it. Then proceed to "milk" the bag into your bowl, squeezing out all of the liquid...

Looks just like cow's milk, doesn't it? :-)

The good thing is it tastes far far better!

Enjoy!

Nutty Banana Rolled Oats - A Healthy Breakfast!

My kids love this (but they hate raisins so I avoid adding them)...

Needed:

2 sliced bananas

A small handful of sunflower seeds, raw

250 ml Pomegranate juice

2 handfuls of frozen blueberries

A small handful of rolled oats (the kind your mama used to eat for breakfast)...

A small handful of raisins (if you like)

A small handful of chopped walnuts

What to do next:

Mix all the ingredients in a breakfast bowl. You can either eat it cold or heat it in the microwave. Either way it tastes great!

So eeeeeeezzzzz :-)

Nutty Date and Banana Ice Cream

One day, when I first started making this, I ate so much that I got sick threw up everywhere. Don't let this happen to you!...

Needed:

4 frozen and peeled bananas (put them in air-filled freezer bags when freezing)

Soya milk - around 400 ml (amount depending on the size of the bananas)

6 dates

A handful of roughly crushed pecan nuts

Combine all the ingredients except for the pecan nuts in a high speed blender and blend until thick and creamy...

Fold in the pecan bits and EAT yourself stupid :-)

Mixed Vegetable Porridge

I use this recipe - or a version of it - nearly everyday....

It's great for kids and adults alike who don't like to eat veg...

Needed:

water

2 large potatoes unpeeled and cut into small cubes

3 handfuls of frozen mixed veg (include lots of broccoli and cauliflower)

4 or 5 frozen cubes of spinage

2 cubes of veg bouillon (buy from a health shop one with very low or no salt)

2 teaspoons of curry powder

2 teaspoons of herbal salt from a health shop (actually contains very little salt and lots of herbs)

a blender

Let's cook it up

Put all the seasoning into a saucepan with the potatoe cubes and water and boil.

When the potatoe cubes are soft add all the veg and let the whole thing come to a boil.

Now,  get out your blender and blend until your soup turns into a porridge.

If it's too thick add some water and eat!...

There you go!
